Course Title: COMPUTER TECHNICIAN COURSE
RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION:
This Module has been formulated such that it reflects the workplace-based needs of the Information Technology Industry as expressed by its stakeholders. The input has been used to ensure that the module provides the learner with accessibility to be employed within the IT Industry. The unit standards will allow learners to qualify for a national qualification by accumulating the required credits via short learning programmes. Upon successful completion of the Modules, the learner will understand the role of a Systems Support Technician and be able to competently carry out Hardware and Infrastructure Support for Personal Computers services, in a business environment.

Anyone working or aspiring to work in the IT industry
WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO AT COMPLETION
A learner will be able to
-Communicate effectively with fellow IT staff & users of information systems.
-Build and repair computers.
-Install computer software.
-Demonstrate an understanding of problem solving techniques, and how to apply them in a technical environment.
-Select and use materials and equipment safely for technological purposes.

DURATION OF COURSE:
3 months {570 notional hours}
Learners to attend 3 months contact session {physical presence}
Cost per delegate: Refer to price list / courses are on part time or correspondence
Refer to timetable for roll-out dates. Course can be rolled out at the delegates’ premises in event of more than 7 delegates comes from same place/ company.
PRE-QUALIFICATION/ Entry criteria –
Grade.12 or an equivalent
